Abilities

Deck Fire

Picture
As the Skyfire takes damage, destructive fires break out on the ship and spread rapidly across its deck. Crewmembers rush to extinguish these blazes and keep them in check. Any player standing within a fire suffers 42750 to 47250 Fire damage/second.

Blade Rush

Picture
The Dreadblade charges at the location of a random distant player, inflicting 92500 to 107500 Physical damage to all players in its path.

Twilight Barrage

Picture
The twilight drakes launch a Twilight Barrage that inflicts 140,000 Shadow damage, divided evenly among all players within its 5 yard radius. If the attack strikes the deck of the Skyfire without hitting a player, the gunship suffers the full damage instead.

Twilight Onslaught

Picture
Twilight Onslaught inflicts 800,000 Shadow damage, divided evenly among all players within its 10 yard radius and the Skyfire. If the attack strikes the deck of the Skyfire without hitting a player, the gunship suffers the full damage.

Sapper Detonate

Picture
Upon reaching the Skyfire's bridge, the Sapper detonates his explosives. The blast inflicts 243750 to 256250 Fire damage to players within 8 yards, damages the Skyfire for 20% of its total durability, and kills the Sapper.

Twilight Breath (Heroic only)

Picture
Inflicts 120000 to 130000 Shadow damage in a 45 yard cone in front of the caster. Has a 20 sec cooldown.

Disrupting Roar

Picture
Blackhorn roars, dealing 47,500 to 52,500 Physical damage to all enemies, and interrupting the spellcasting of enemies within 10 yards for 8 sec.

Shockwave

Picture
Targets a random player and begins casting. Deals 95,000 to 105,000 Physical damage to enemies in a 80 yard cone in front of the caster, stunning them for 4 sec.

Strategy

This is a two phase fight where phase one lasts for three waves of adds then phase 2 begins when the boss lands.

Phase 1

In Phase 1, the raid will be on the Skyfire and need to defend the ship from several waves of adds. Each wave will consist of 6 Twilight Assault Drakes, the boss' drake, Goriona, and both a Twilight Elite Dreadblade and a Twilight Elite Slayer. Each of the drakes will attempt to do damage to the ship. If the ship takes enough damage (durability hits zero), then it will suffer from Massive Explosion and result in a wipe.

Throughout the phase, Goriona will use Twilight Onslaught, which does massive damage to the ship, unless the raid takes the hit. This is done by having as many people as possible stand where Twilight Onslaught is going to land. We'll need at least 20 players helping with this which will reduce the damage each player takes to at most 100k.  It is important for enough players take the hit, otherwise the ship takes too much damage and people will die.

The Twilight Assault Drakes have their own version of Goriona's attack called Twilight Barrage. This is a weaker version, but it will occur more frequently, It is important that the raid helps group up for these attacks as well, but we'll only need about 3-5 players to soak each one. It is assumed that the raid will have to be divided into 4-5 groups, where each group will cover a specific area of the ship to reduce the damage taken from Twilight Barrage.  For each Twilight Barrage you miss, the ship will lose 5% durability.

While Goriona cannot be killed the Twilight Assault Drakes can and need to be. The ship consists of two Harpoon Cannons that players can use to pull the Twilight Assault Drakes closer, so that they are in range of the ranged DPS. Eventually, they will break free and fly away, so the raid will need to pull them in multiple times until killed. The key observation is that while a drake is pulled in, it cannot use Twilight Barrage, so it would be wise to Harpoon the drakes as much as possible.

While the ranged DPS focus on the drakes, the melee and tanks will need to worry about the Twilight Elite Dreadblade and Twilight Elite Slayer. These adds will board the ship and need to be picked up by the tanks. Both adds will use Blade Rush. Basically, one player is picked, and the add will charge towards that player. Anyone caught in the path will take a high amount of damage, so have players avoid the charge path.

Both adds also apply a stacking frontal cone debuff. This means the adds can never face the raid. The Twilight Elite Dreadblade will use Degeneration, while the Twilight Elite Slayer will use Brutal Strike. This is your standard tank swap after each tank gets so many stacks of one specific debuff. The difference between the two debuffs is that one is shadow damage, and the other is physical damage.

While all of this is going on, Twilight Sappers will try to sneak on board and be suicide bombers. If they reach the bridge, they'll use Detonate, which does massive damage, and the ship will lose 2% durability. It is extremely important that the raid looks out for Twilight Sappers and kill them before they can explode. Note that they can vanish, so be ready for them to reappear.

Pro Tip: Sappers can be slowed, stunned, and death gripped so take advantage.

Based on the above details, Phase 1 has a priority order regarding what needs to be done. The order is as follows:

1. Group up for Twilight Onslaught and use a healer CD on each one.2.  Kill Twilight Sappers before they reach the captain's quarters and detonate.
3.  Kill Twilight Assault Drakes.
4.  Kill the eilie dreadblade and slayers.

Phase 2

Phase 2 begins after three waves of adds have been defeated. Blackhorn will board the ship and start attacking the raid. His abilities are very similar to that of a Protection Warrior.  You have 4 minutes for the enrage timer.

First, he does Devastate, which gives the tank a stacking debuff called Sunder Armor.   After 5 stacks (up to 5), the tanks swap.

His next attack is Disrupting Roar, which interrupts all spell casting within 10 yards of the boss.  Have ranged DPS or healers be a minimum of 10 yards from the boss.  The raid will take significant AOE damage, so the healers should be prepared to top everyone.

Shortle after he roars he will cast Shockwave.  Players will need to quickly strafe out of the shockwave zone or take lots of damage and a 4 second stun.  This includes the tank. If the tank gets stunned, the other tank will need to immediately taunt, or the stunned tank can be killed very quickly.

His final ability is Vengeance. This is similar to how it works for tanks, except with a twist. The lower the boss' health is, the more damage the boss does. This makes the last 25% of the fight even harder, for some of his abilities, such as Shockwave, will start to one shot players who are not tanks. This will force players to remain focused during the whole fight, especially at the end. Because of this, Bloodlust will be saved for the last 25% health.

While the boss is on the ship, Goriona will still cause problems for the raid. The main ability the drake has is Twilight Flames, which causes fire patches to spawn on the ground. These patches do an insane amount of damage very quickly. Fortunately, if Goriona hits 30% health, she'll fly away and stop casting Twilight Flames for the remainder of the fight.  Have range spread out and avoid damaging Blackhorn until you make Goriona fly away.  If your healers can handle it allow melee to damage blackhorn (due to his Vengeance).  Once she flies away the fight is tank and spank with increasing damage so use cooldowns as needed.

Heroic Strategy

There are substantial differences for the heroic mode. For Phase 1, the ship will occasionally catch on fire, and the fire will spread over the deck. Standing in Deck Fire is bad so avoid it.

The next change in Phase 1 is that Goriona will occasionally use Broadside, which does 20% durability damage to the ship. This means we'll have less time to get out of Phase 1. Otherwise, the ship will go down with us on it.

In Phase 2, Goriona will join the fight once she's at 80% health instead of running away at lower health. With her in the fight, Phase 2 is completely different now. First, she'll use Twilight Breath in a frontal cone. Therefore, the tank that's on her should face her away from the raid.

Goriona will also select 3 players with Consuming Shroud. This causes the next 100,000 healing to be absorbed from the affected players. Also, any healing absorbed also does the same amount as damage to anyone near the player. This means the affected players will need to get away from the raid before they can be healed.

Finally, when Blackhorn gets low on health, he'll use Siphon Vitality.  Kill Goriana to ensure that he doesn't heal.

Be smart about positioning around fire, use cooldowns liberally while Goriana is up, and enjoy the tank and spank style fight similar to normal mode once she is down.
