Deathwing is trying to finish the job he started by bringing forth a second Cataclysm, inflicting 1,462,500 to 1,537,500 Fire damage to all enemies.

Elementium Bolt

Picture
Deathwing launches an Elementium Bolt at the target platform. If the Elementium Bolt reaches its destination it inflicts 380250 to 399750 Fire damage to all enemies and an additional 380250 to 399750 Fire damage every 5 sec for until cancelled.

Crush

The crushing weight of the Mutated Corruption inflicts 100,000 Physical damage to enemies in a cone in front of the Corruption.

Impale

Picture
The Mutated Corruption impales its target, inflicting 400,000 Physical damage to the target.

Corrupting Parasite (HM)

Picture
Corrupting Parasite inflicts increasing Shadow damage periodically. When Corrupting Parasite's duration ends, the parasite detaches from the player and causes a Parasitic Backlash. This inflicts 243,750 to 256,250 Fire damage to players within 10 yards of the host.

Unstable Corruption (HM)

Picture
The Corrupting Parasite begins to cast Unstable Corruption, inflicting 10% of the Corrupted Parasite's health as  Fire damage to all enemies.

Hemorrhage

Picture
Deathwing's tentacle begins to Hemorrhage, causing Regenerative Bloods to spawn at a nearby location.

Degenerative Bite

Picture
Melee attacks cause Degenerative Bite, inflicting 1,462 to 1,537 Shadow damage every 1 sec for 10 sec. This effect stacks. Limb Tentacle – Deathwing grasps onto each platform with one of his limbs.

Burning Blood

Picture
The Burning Blood gushes from the Tentacle, inflicting Fire damage every 2 sec.  The damage is increased the lower health the Limb Tentacle is.

Blistering Heat

Picture
The Tentacle radiates Blistering Heat inflicting 2500 Fire damage every 2 sec.  Blistering Heat increases damage by 2 every stack.  Stacks.

Shrapnel

Picture
The Fragment fires a piece of Shrapnel at the target, inflicting 195,000 to 205,000 Physical damage, piercing through armor.

Tetanus

Picture
Inflicts 29,250 to 30,750 Shadow damage every 1 sec for 6 sec.  Stacks.

Strategy

Phase 1

This is a two phase fight that involves handling a platforms in a specific order.  When the fight begins, Deathwing will use Assault Aspects. There are 4 platforms, and each platform corresponds to a specific dragon aspect. Whichever platform has the most players with an attached limb will be attacked first. This means the raid can decide will platform to be on before the fight begins. This is also important for determining the buff rotation.  Each platform has a dragon aspect hovering over it and each aspect grants the following buffs until they are destroyed. Recommended Order Ysera->Alexsrasza->Nozdormu->Kalecgo.  When you destroy a limp the aspect on the platform will remove their buff from the raid until phase 2.

Alexstrasza

Picture
increases maximum health by 20% and casts Cauterize.  this allows you to ignore blistering tentacles.

Nozdormu

Picture
increases casting  and attack speeds by 20%, casts Time Zone. This allows the raid to kill the meteor and take less damage from any adds spawned in the time zone

Ysera

Picture
increases healing done by 20%, gives each player the Dream ability.  Dream helps tanks survive Impale and is a great damage redution CD.

Kalecgos

Picture
Increases damage done by 20%, causes attacks o occasionally trigger Spellweave. this helps to kill all adds and is a huge dps boost, especially with nozdormu's buff.

As soon as Deathwing has decided which platform to assault, he'll summon a Mutated Corruption tentacle. This will appear in the back of the platform, with 33.5 million health, and start attacking the respective dragon. The raid will need to burn down the tentacle before it kills the aspect. There are two main abilities to plan for.  Crush, which selects a random target and does a good amount of damage in a frontal cone. The range can either spread to minimize the damage or stack to allow healers to easily AOE heal everyone back up. The tentacle also has Impale, which does 400k damage to the tank but gives a 3 second warning. This means tank will need to reduce the damage by at least 60% to survive the damage.  Personal tank cooldowns plus one external cooldown such as Hand of Sacrifice or Pain Suppression will be needed.

After the Mutated Corruption tentacle is down, the raid needs to focus on the limb currently on the platform. The goal is to kill the limb before Deathwing finishes casting Cataclysm. Killing a limb causes Agonizing Pain, which interrupts Cataclysm, reduces Deathwing's health by 20%, and allows you to change platforms.

While burning down a limb several things occur. First, the limb has Burning Blood. This does periodic AoE damage to the whole raid, and the damage increases as the limb's health decreases. Next, whenever the limb hits 75%, 50%, and 25% health, it'll spawn several Blistering Tentacles on the platform. Each tentacle will cast Blistering Heat, which does additional periodic AoE damage, with the damage increasing over time. Therefore, it's extremely important that these adds die as quickly as possible.  Note that you must single target damage these adds to kill them.

Deathwing also does a few other abilities during the fight. First, he'll summon an Elementium Bolt that will head for one of the platforms. When it lands, it'll cause Elementium Blast, which does massive raid damage.  Damage decrease the farther away a player is from the impact.  Have the raid group up at the farthest point from impact and use at least two raid cooldowns.  Because the meteor is so devastating it is recommended that you kill Nozdormu's platform second to last.

His other main ability is Hemorrhage which will spawn several Regernative Blood. These adds have several abilities to note. First, the adds gain 10 energy every second. If any add gets to full energy, it'll use Regenerative Blood, which heals the add to 100% health. The adds also do Degenerative Bite on their target. This is a stacking DoT on the tanks, so they will not be able to tank the adds forever.
This means you need to AOE them down quickly.  You should have Spellweave on every platform, making this easy to do.

The strategy of this fight is very repetitive. Kill all the adds on a platform, get the limb very low on health, and then finish it off while Deathwing is casting Cataclysm.  Repeat this 4 times, once for each platform, in order to get to Phase 2.

Phase 2

Phase 2 begins when Deathwing is at 20% health, which is also when all four limbs are down. He will collapse to the ground, exposing his head, and you burn it down until he's dead.  It should be noted that this is not a DPS race, and the raid can take its time handling the mechanics properly.  All of the aspects will reappear and grant their buffs at the beginning of phase 2.

The first mechanic will be the spawning of Elementium Fragments. These adds need to be AOE'd down. However, each add can also cause Shrapnel, which does a very high amount of damage that cannot be mitigated by armor. If a raid memberis targeted they need to use Dream to survive the hit.  Unless otherwise noted Dream should always be saved for Shrapnel.

Two bigger adds called Elementium Terrors will also spawn during this phase. These adds will cause a stacking DoT called Tetanus on the tanks. If the tank gets too many stacks they will die.

Pro Tip:If you are unable to kill the terror before losing a tank, have a DPS taunt the Terror until the tanks stacks fall off.  Hunters or other ranged can taunt as well and briefly kite in order to reset a tanks stacks.  The adds do not melee for much damage so this tactic works well.

Finally, Deathwing will use Corrupted Blood consistently for the entire phase 2.  At 15%, 10%, and 5% health, this ability will do significantly more damage. Cooldowns will be needed for each of these, especially at 5%.   At 5% any unused cooldowns should be used and every player should use Dream.  The boss should die before you will receive additional Shrapnel.

Heroic Strategy

There are two differencesbetween the heroic and normal encounter.  First, in Phase 1, a new add called Corrupting Parasite will randomly target a player.  When it does, that person will get Corrupting Parasite, which does periodic shadow damage for 10 seconds. After 10 seconds the parasite will then cast Parasitic Backlash, which does a lethal amount of damage to anyone within 10 yards of the player and leaves behind a Corrupted Parasite add.  The Add will begin casting Unstable Corruption and after 10 seconds will explode and damage the entire raid.  To handle this well the infected player will want to position themselves near the tentacle or the limb (In Nozdormu's time zone) but 10 yards from other players.  DPS will need to switch and kill this add immediately.

Picture
If a tentacle is up you will take the parasite to the location indicated.  This will allow all DPS to switch to it easily and will still cleave the tentacle (which is a DPS race on every platform).  This positioning maximizes DPS but requires careful positioning.  If there is no tentacle up then the parasite should be put into the Time Zone as close to the limb as possible.  This, yet again, will maximize DPS on deathwing's limbs.

Pro Tip: Healers will need to focus a lot on the player affected by Corrupted Parasite, especially from the 6-10 second mark.  Players should use any defensive CDs that they can to mitigate damage.  Immunity abilities will instantly drop the add so be sure you are in position before using or else you can wipe the raid.

The last difference is in Phase 2. Whenever Deathwing reaches 15%, 10%, and 5% health or 60 seconds pass, he'll hemorrhage and spawn several Congealing Blood on the platform. These adds will move toward the head and if they successfully come in contact with Deathwing will heal him.  The raid cannot afford to allow these adds to reach the head so heavy AOE will be needed.  These adds also must be slowed.  Note that you will not want everyone throwing down snares, only have your best snares used.  For instance you don't want a 50% snare overwriting a 70% snare.

Pro Tip:
The best slow for these adds is a rogue using Fan of Knives with Crippling Poison.
