How Dragons Train Your Raiders #7:
When to Wipe
Welcome to another addition of HDTYR where I dive deep into aspects of guild management and leadership. Recently, I have had questions regarding when it is time to throw in the towel on the boss and move on or when you should keep pushing for the kill. As always the right answer will vary but here are some solid guidelines for making an educated decision.
Panda Parley #2:
Elder Charms of Good Pixels
Today in another edition of Panda Parlay I want to discuss the Elder Charms of Good Fotune. These little goodies amplify the loot system in an amazing way and provide each raider with some amount of power over their own gear sets.
How Dragons Train Your Raiders #6:
Choosing Who to Sit
I have not, to date, done two blogs of the same series consecutively but this is a follow up to Wednesday’s post that is very relevant the first few weeks of raiding and throughout progression. Today in HDTYR we will tackle the very difficult task of choosing who to sit. I will put two ratings next to each header representing hardcore (HC) and “casual” (N) relevance. A score of 10 means that this should be one of the top factors for deciding who to sit and a 1 indicates that it really won’t factor much at all.
How Dragons Train Your Raiders #5
Class Stacking and the Guild
Welcome to another edition of HDTYR, this time I will be discussing the volatile issue of class stacking. I have touched on this issue but I wanted to go a little more in depth to talk about when it is a great thing and when it may push the guild too far.
Panda Parley #1:
First Impressions
With the release of Mists of Pandaria the “Panda Prep” Blog has been discontinued and the “Panda Parley” will replace it. This blog is dedicated to discussing all things Panda, especially when they do not fall into a different Blog Series. I will be discussing many of the first impressions of the game which will exclude raiding.
The Speed of Light #4
Healing Hotspots
Welcome to another edition of The Speed of Light! In this issue I will cover ways healers will be contributing to keeping your raid alive. Each healer specific cooldown, new and old, will be outlined and briefly discussed. This will give players an idea of the toolkit that each healer will have in the upcoming T14 raids.
Tech Corner #4:
Mac vs. PC
Today in tech corner I will briefly analyze and compare the standard Mac vs. PC dispute and settle it once and for all!
How Dragons Train Your Raiders #4:
Avoiding Drama Llamas
As a follow up to last week’s HDTYR (The Perfect GM), I will discuss today how to avoid drama in your guild. As you know by now avoiding all drama is impossible but there are a lot of tips and tricks to reducing that.
The Speed of Light #2
No Excuses For Dying!
Welcome to the next edition of the Speed of Light, a blog dedicated to healing more effectively. Today I plan on discussing the raid and personal cooldowns that will be at our disposal in MoP. One of the key differences between good raiders and great raiders is cooldown usage and timing. I will discuss the cooldowns available and give some insight into what players can do do improve survivability.
Panda Prep #4: Taking it in the Class
So you are remembering back to when wrath first launched and Ret Paladins and Death Knights were running train on everything at level 70-80. There was a point where I can remember winning a 2v5 in world pvp with my DK friend while leveling. I am sure that many players decided that their class was mediocre and decided to switch mains for the expansion. I will discuss why it is best to think critically about choosing your class in the next expansion rather than selecting based on the most recent beta build.
